Sin Dormir (Sleepless)

This piece is a response to Poetics: Foreign Tongues over at dVerse. I decided to try my hand at translating it into Spanish...I'm kinda rusty with my Español, but I gave it a shot.
You
are my
insomnia.
I
restlessly
wander in the
wake of vertigo
drunk off of eyes
emitting a longing
to be overstood,
desired,
connected.
I
embrace
moonbeams
envisioning them
as
you.
wicked cool write. The spanish is razor sharp, just love the way it sounds. The translation, well, how cool is the middle verse. Great piece. Thanks for sharing with us tonight.
ReplyDelete...and so too is Spanish a beautiful language. "I embrace moonbeams envisioning them as you" .... very nicely done :)
ReplyDeletefull of longing
ReplyDelete...ah, you are my insomnia...;)..there's an old song with the words 'quiero que seas mi cama'...a little more risque but the same wanting and longing. thank you for stopping by my blog..your spanish is not as rusty as mine;)
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful in any language! Awesome.
ReplyDeleteme encanta
ReplyDeletesí, eres mi insomnia
i embrace moon beams...what a great close on this...an enchanting verse...the longing to be understood...love that bit....and you are my insomnia...seriously lovely bit of love man...
ReplyDeleteOh, this is just beautiful in English; and I can only imagine it is the same in Spanish as well! There is something about those 'romance' languages!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful in both languages :)
ReplyDeleteThis is proper Spanish - which is why I only included the few phrases I am sure of in my poem. This poem is a fine achievement in either language - to write so well in both is amazing!
ReplyDeleteRomantic beautiful poetry.
ReplyDeleteYour poem is so romantic. :-) The Spanish version is equally good and romantic. :-)
ReplyDeleteCool poem, I like it... well-written, brief with impact
ReplyDeleteTHANKS for stopping by my blog and commenting on my "San Juan por la noche." Your Spanish is lovely... and don't you agree, "rayos de luna" even sounds more romantic than "moonbeams"? This is truly lovely, and I thank you for commenting, so I could real your work as well. Que linda tu poecia... Amy
