Going Nowhere (6/30)

The prompt for day 6 over at NaPoWriMo was to take a good look outside your window and jot down all the nouns, colors and verbs you see, then take those words and build a poem. This is what I came up with...

Sun rays peak through the
salmon and timberwolf sky.

Unexpected traffic has drivers
seeing bullfighter red as electric

lime green signals do little to
move metallic impatience.

The white hot noise of car horns
threatens to drown out Sunday

morning cathedral bells as the wind
carries their ringing to annoyed ears.

A woman adorned in a fancy cerulean
hat gets off the bus and smiles as she

briskly walks towards the ash gray
steps of her place of worship.

Shamrock eyes in the vehicle adjacent
to mine stare at her, seeming envious

that she has reached her destination.
