Mind Castle (1/30)

The prompt for Day 1 over at NaPoWriMo was to create a poem based on a randomly chosen quotation provided by Bibliomancy Oracle. This was the one generated for me:

Reality is usually a poor copy of the imitation. The original is an echo of what is yet to be.
from "Me and My Pharaoh..." by Charles Bernstein

The world feels more real when dreaming...

is the graffiti spray painted on the walls

of my mind castle.

I view it

flying above

a moat made from

star flesh and cosmos tears.

Those words backspin

and headstand with a bold vividness,

beat-boxing a pragmatic prophecy.

My alarm clock clips my wings

and shackles me to gray.
